Britt Nicole, "Through Your Eyes" [OPC Hits 2016.9.25]

Britt Nicole has just added another hit on her growing catalog here on the OPC Hits chart. After topping the charts with "Gold" in 2012, and "You're Not Alone" with Owl City in 2014, she scores another #1 hit this year with "Through Your Eyes," the lead single off her upcoming self-titled fourth studio album, due on October 7. She's surely come a long way from 2007 when I first heard her track "You." Here's our current leader on the Praise Parade chart, up two after debuting at #3 last week:

Cash Cash, "Millionaire" [OPC Hits 2016.9.18]

American electronic dance music group Cash Cash scored their first hit in the OPC charts two years ago with "Lightning," featuring the Goo Goo Dolls's John Rzeznik. Now, the trio is back, and they're not just back, they're back with a bang as they occupy the top spot in our latest Popsounds tally. This time they tag along British music producer and DJ Nicholas Gale, known professionally as Digital Farm Animals, and OPC regular Nelly, dishing out a song that one may aspire to become. Here's "Millionaire" at #1 on this week's OPC Hits:

When Visual Studio Can't See What You Can See

Working on a C# project, I recently encountered a puzzling problem that made me go crazy for a couple of hours. After pulling the latest source code from our version control system, the solution won't run anymore, giving plenty of build errors from out of left field.

Here are what the errors were basically saying:

  • XXXX.XXXX does not contain a definition for YYYY and no extension method YYYY accepting a first argument of type XXXX.XXXX could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
  • XXXX.XXXX.XXXX does not contain a definition for YYYY
  • The type name YYYY does not exist in the type XXXX.XXXX

Christina Grimmie, "Without Him" [OPC Hits 2016.9.11]

I knew Christina Grimmie was a The Voice finalist, but I didn't really pay attention to her. I only started to check out her music only when the tragic news of her passing broke out. This lady had powerful vocals! But more than her vocals, I was amazed at her powerful declaration, saying that "Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and I'm not at all ashamed of it." Curiously, she wrote that in the description of the Youtube video of her cover of "In Christ Alone," where she sang the words:

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

So in the words of that song, she said it best. Her Savior has already called her home, and she is now "glistening from up in Heaven and shining down on all of us" (as Before You Exit puts it), but maybe it ain't too late for me to become a fan. Her family has posthumously released Side A, an EP which contains this track called "Without Him," which lands at #1 on this week's Popsounds chart:
