Dash Family Top 23 of 2023

Happy new year, everyone! Two weeks into 2024 and finally, the Dash Family Top 23 of 2023, is ready to be unveiled. But unlike Spotify Wrapped which takes into account only eleven months of the year, I consider the whole year in determining what makes it to the list, so this is definitely much more inclusive and more complete. BONUS - Top Kids Song: Bluey, "Dance Mode"

Commentary:

• The #1 song for this year is "You Will Be Found," originally from the 2015 musical Dear Evan Hansen, powered by two duet cover versions, one from Natalie Grant & Cory Asbury and another from Caleb and Kelsey.
• Fall Out Boy's updated version of "We Didn't Start the Fire" lands at #2 after setting our Repeat button on fire, and inspring us to make a UN version of the song called "We Wanna Tour the Nations," performed by our own Johnrille & Jane.
• "Thank God" by husband-and-wife Kane & Katelyn Brown takes the #3 spot, and is added to our all-time Certified Godsend Tunes.
• Most songs are kids favorites that they could sing along to, comprising of fifteen out of the 23 top songs. Tracks from our Pop Express Junior kids playlist actually occupied most of the top spots in our Spotify Wrapped, so it had to be customized to divide into the Pop (this list), Praise and Kids yearend charts.
• Avril Lavigne (Godsend Debbie's favorite), via two tracks she's featured in, and the Blessid Union of Souls (my favorite) maintain their status as yearend chart regulars.
• Busted and Jonas Brothers take the last spot in the Top 10, with version 2.0 of "Year 3000,"  a collaboration of the original and the cover artist. Just to share: The kids get the kid-friendly Jo-Bros version outside of my regular playlist, so they sing about your great-great-great grand-daughter doing fine, instead of being pretty fine.
