Planetshakers, "This Is Our Time" [OPC Hits 2014.12.14]

After topping the OPC Hits earlier this year with "Endless Praise" and "Made for Worship," the Planetshakers are back with the title track of their latest album. The Australian band will be back in Manila next year for a night of fervent praise and worship, with a mission to awaken, empower, transform and equip the Filipinos to fulfill their God-given destiny. Meanwhile, here's "This Is Our Time," debuting at #3 this week:

Taylor Swift, "Blank Space" [OPC Hits 2014.12.07]

Taylor Swift seems to have a thing about reentering the OPC Hits on a higher position. She recently did it with "Out of the Woods," and now she does it again, this time with the official second single from her current album 1989. Its lyrics go: "But I've got a blank space, baby, and I'll write your name," so you definitely don't want to hear this if you're playing Survivor. But if you aren't, then here's "Blank Space" returning to the chart at #3:

Istambay sa Tindahan

Long before GMA's Bubble Gang made their "Istambay sa Looban" skit famous, ABS-CBN's Super Laff-In already had their take on the old Cebuano tune that talks about things that one should really rather not do. I googled for some background info about the original song, and I found out that Max Surban included this tune in one of his medleys, and that there are varying lyrics on the buakon part. Here are the lyrics and the guitar chords (I ciphered it myself!) to the original "Istambay sa Tindahan" as well as the Super Laff-In version. Enjoy!

Extra Rice Questions

Dear Jollibee,

Why must your extra rice be so overpriced?

Do you assume those who order it also have extra money?

Were you screaming when you put the EXTRA RICE in the menu?

Will this be extra income from those who have the extra appetite?

OPC Hits: Alesso feat. Tove Lo, "Heroes (We Could Be)"

While Olly Murs takes back the top spot after being booted out last week (this time tagging along Demi Lovato for the song called "Up"), Swedish DJ and EDM producer Alesso also makes an entrance on the OPC Hits chart. Featuring Tove Lo on vocals, the track is his first Top 5 hit in his home country, and his first hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. Here's "Heroes (We Could Be)" at #7:
